Recreational Gymnastics

Our recreational gymnastics program provides training of the basic gymnastic skills – flexibility, balance, strength and agility. In the noncompetitive atmosphere of the “rec” classes, kids develop attributes that are perfect stepping-stones for advancing through more complex gymnastics movements. These basics also provide strength, coordination and awareness important for other sports and activities. Through expert gymnastic instruction and safe, enjoyable progressions, children enrolled in Metro’s Recreational Gymnastics program achieve success in key developmental areas such as concentration, confidence, creativity and self-discipline.

Mini Movers Gymnastics Program

The Mini Movers program provides children 12 months old through Kindergarten an opportunity to explore age appropriate activities in a safe, fun kid oriented environment. While gymnastics instruction provides positive reinforcement – the foundation for a great experience – children are challenged at their own ability levels and praised for their interaction and efforts. Skills that involve tumbling, swinging, balancing, jumping, rhythm and hand/eye coordination are part of the pre-school curriculum, with gymnastics skills developed along the way. Equipment is set-up and effectively utilized to keep students productive through their entire class! Social skills – taking direction, sharing, taking turns, cooperation- are also an integral part of our classes.

Gymnastics Team Programs

The Boys Team and Girls Team Gymnastics Programs provide a variety of options for gymnasts who wish to take their gymnastics experience to a higher level, either competitively or non-competitively. Gymnasts who show an aptitude and a keen interest in the art and sport of gymnastics are invited to Team Tryouts. The philosophies and gymnastics training within the Team Program flow smoothly from those of all other Metro Programs. The teams compete at Local, State, Regional and National levels and the gymnasts range in age from 6 to 18. Our goal is for every team gymnast who competes to reach their individual potential no matter what skill level they will be competing at. The Metro Gymnastics Competitive Boys and Girls Teams follow the USA Gymnastics Jr. Olympic Program. Participation in the Team Program is by invitation only.

Metro Cheerleading

All Metro Cheerleading classes will focus on cheerleading competition based routines. Our goal is to end each session with a performance for family and friends. During the session, participants will learn each piece of a routine and pull it all together for the performance on the last day of class. The level of difficulty will be based on age group, class level and overall skill level. We would like to develop an All Star Squad within a year. The classes will help prepare participants to tryout for high school, college and All Star squads.

Educational Programs

Magic Years Preschool Program offers a stimulating early learning setting that fosters creativity in children. We provide varied learning experiences in a Christian based environment. In a loving, nurturing environment, children are given opportunities for creative expression, socializations and oral communication with peers and adults. Small group and individual instruction are also provided. We hope to foster each child’s self-image and self-confidence, and help him/her build a strong foundation for all learning.

The Club Metro After-School Program is an affordable, convenient after school program that’s anything but ordinary. Based on Metro’s core values, when your children participate in Club Metro they’ll be fully engaged from the time we pick them up at school until the time you pick them up after work. Club Metro is staffed by professionals with experience in education and physical fitness and are certified in first aid and CPR.
