Metro Gymnastics Center’s Magic Years Preschool program offers a stimulating early learning environment that fosters creativity in children. We provide varied learning experiences in a Christian based environment that will teach your child of God’s love for him during his or her formative years, and of his own self worth as an individual.

Preschool Program Description

Dates: September to mid-June
3 year olds - Tuesday & Thursday - 9AM - 11:30 AM
4 year olds - Monday & Wednesday & Friday - 9AM - 11:30 AM
3 & 4 year olds (combined class) - Monday & Wednesday & Friday - 9AM - 11:30 AM
Pre-Kindergarten (4 & 5 year olds) – Monday & Tuesday & Wednesday & Thursday - 12:30PM - 3PM

Philosophy

The Preschool Director carefully selects & prepares a curriculum that is developmentally appropriate for your preschool aged children. The purpose is to provide material & activities geared to the individual needs of each child. “Hands on” materials are a part of each of the activity areas in the classroom, encouraging children to explore, experiment, & investigate.

In a loving, nurturing environment, the children are given many opportunities for creative expression, socializations & oral communication with peers & adults. Small group & individualized instruction are also provided.

It is our hope that during the preschool years, each child will develop a life-long love for learning. We want to see each child reach their fullest potential & grow cognitively, physically, and socially. We hope to foster each child’s self-image & self-confidence and help him/her build a strong foundation for learning.

School Calendar

The preschool will generally follow the regular public school calendar Tigard/Tualatin for the year. If there are differences, you will be informed.

Registration

Children who are 3 years of age by September 1st of the current school year are eligible for enrollment. Registration begins at the end of January and continues until the classes are full. We have a limit of 18 students per class in our 4 & 5 year old Monday-Wednesday-Friday classes; a limit of 15 students in our Tuesday-Thursday 3 year old class; and Monday-Thursday class limit is 16 students. We require a $75 nonrefundable registration fee at the time of enrollment. Preference in admissions is given to families who have or had children enrolled in our Preschool. We will take names for a waiting list if fully enrolled. Registration is open to all; we do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, or ethnic origin.

Tuition

TUESDAY & THURSDAY - AM - $125 Per Month (limit 15 students)
MONDAY & WEDNESDAY & FRIDAY - AM - $180 Per Month (limit 18 students)
MONDAY thru THURSDAY (Pre-K) - PM - $235 Per Month (limit 16 students)
* Annual pricing is based on a 9 month school year
* September & June tuition are due prior to September 1
* 10% discount will be given for siblings and for a Full year payment
* $50 Special Event Fee is due prior to the 1st day of class

Visitation

Parents are welcome to visit any time. We ask only that no more than two visit in a day in order to keep class continuity.

Field Trips

Children will participate in several field trips per year. We will transport children in the Metro vans. Parent volunteers are welcome and needed on our excursions and can follow behind the vans or meet us at the the destination. On occasion, a small cost will be involved for a trip.

Snack Time

We ask you to help your child provide snacks for the class about once every five to six weeks. The children look forward to providing snack. Please ensure the snack is nutritious and low in sugar with milk or sugar free juice to drink. The snack bag will go home with your child the day before to remind you. Due to state health regulations, all snacks must be store purchased.

Birthdays

A child’s most important celebration is his/her birthday, and at Magic Years we want to help make their day special. We will celebrate each child’s birthday on or near the actual date. If a child’s birthday falls in the summer months, it will be celebrated with a half birthday approximately midyear. Parents are asked to provide a snack for their child’s class on the day of their birthday celebration. It may be a little sweeter than the usual snack and will be served at our regular snack time. Parents are welcome to participate.

Special Celebrations

Several times a year we will have special events in which we will invite parents/families to participate. We have had such celebrations as Dad's Night Out with their Pre-Schooler, Pumpkin carving night, Family fall festival, Thanksgiving Feast, Christmas program, Mother’s Day Tea/Celebration and end of the year graduation/parties.

Magic Years Playhouse

Magic Years Playhouse is an extended program offered to all children ages 3 - 6 years old. Each day the children will have a chance to eat lunch (brought from home) or lunch may be purchased at our Java Bean Snack Shop. They will eat with friends and then have some open play time in the gym, do arts & crafts, and enjoy story time!

Price Per Month:

1 day/week = $56
2 days/week = $104
3 days/week = $144
4 days/week = $176
5 days/week = $200.00
